MOONS FARM, 1686
The Fylde vernacular, or what
remains of it, exists more in a
typical plan form than a use of
traditional materials. The impact
of the ‘Great Rebuilding’ (early
C18th on the Fylde) and an
exceptionally high rate of loss
leaves us with many modernised
buildings that retain the single
pile three-bay plan,
characterised by it’s baffle entry
either side of the main chimney,
but with a diverse range of
enclosing materials and window
forms.
