IHBC Yearbook 2017

U S E F U L I N F O R M A T I O N 85 IHBC-RECOGNISED COURSES As outlined in our Memorandum and Articles, the IHBC recognises that built and historic environment conservation courses can contribute significantly to the wide-ranging skills sets (or ‘Areas of Competence’) required of a Full Member of the institute. Consequently, graduates of fully recognised courses with two years of relevant professional experience may apply to become a Full Member of the institute. This is in contrast to the five years of relevant practice required of other applicants. Graduates of courses that have ‘select’ recognition for specific Areas of Competence may use these courses to build their skills in Areas of Competence not covered in their original education or training.
