Highland – Grade ll*
Herefordshire, England
Private Client
The Client brief was for a detached structure within the grounds of a Grade 2 Listed property in Herefordshire to house a large collection of classic cars.
Dyfi Architecture designed a curved roof, sedum covered structure using a re-introduction of the Belfast Truss which was used at the turn of the century to achieve large spans without intermediate supports.
The timber framed design was extremely well received by the Planners and sits perfectly within the rural landscape, the roof trusses span over 12 metres.
The project was listed in the Wood awards 2020 and shortlisted in the LABC awards – watch our website for more news!

Grant Funded Building Renovation Wales
Grade 2* Listed
Snowdonia National Park
Private Clients
Dyfi Architecture helped secure funding with the Historic Houses Foundation and ran the renovation of this very significant Grade 2* Listed Gatehouse in Snowdonia National Park. It has a spectacular four sided turret roof section constructed with huge oak timbers. The heavy but fragile coping stones made the site work very challenging.
Working closely with the Snowdonia National Park Authority and Cadw the 400 year old building has been renovated to the highest standards.
