90 The Oxford Brookes MSc in Historic Conservation is recognised by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) as fulfi lling the academic criteria for Full Membership of the IHBC, the institute for professionals working in the built environment conservation sector. It is also accredited by the RICS and RTPI. The course examines the principles, procedures and practices of the preservation and conservation of historic structures and sites; study will take place within the context of the wider built environment and the town planning process. Our MSc/Diploma/Certifi cate in Historic Conservation is long established and highly regarded. It builds on the strengths and traditions of both Oxford Brookes University’s Department of Planning and the University of Oxford’s Department for Continuing Education and may be studied full-time or part-time.
