Accommodation will be allocated for those who book first in the Maids Head Hotel followed by the Premier Inn. Once the room in the Maids Head are booked no further rooms are available. So if accommodation in the Maid’s Head is a priority this is on a strictly first come first served basis. There is no difference in cost between the two hotels.
Day School venue

The site of Open has been a bank since 1779 when Barlett Gurney bought property and installed safes for bullion in the former wine cellars and the Gurney Bank was established. In 1896, 20 banks including the Gurney Bank were amalgamated under the name of Barclay & Co Ltd.
The current premises were built by Barclays Bank in 1926 with its huge banking hall, offices and strong rooms.
As a bank it was reputed to have had to longest banking counter in the UK and became the regional head quarters of Barclays until it was sold to the Lind Trust in 2003.
Hudsons Architects worked with young people on how best to make use of the interior of the venue, both for young people and also conference users, and in 2009 a redesigned venue being handed back to the OPEN Youth Trust.
