Over the past 3 years, Trigpoint Conservation & Planning has worked on appraisals for 14 conservation areas within the Borough of Charnwood. Four within the principal town of Loughborough, the remainder focused on the villages that are scattered throughout the Borough. Project location: 60-62 Constitution Hill, Birmingham
Client or type of client: Private

Type of project and conservation input:

Historic buildings impact assessment – to examine the physical and visual impact of specific proposals on this Grade II listed building and to advise on mitigation measures to minimise any adverse impacts. The impact assessment traced the chronological development of the existing buildings on the site, in particular it was able to identify the original buildings that had been built in the early nineteenth century as offices and workshops, that were greatest architectural and historical importance, from buildings added at the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth century and was able to show that the proposals offered a significant opportunity to secure an economically viable new use for the building without significantly harming its special architectural and historic interest.

Project location: 89 & 90 Meriden Street, Birmingham
Client or type of client: Private

Type of project and conservation input:

Historic building recording - Trigpoint Conservation & Planning were engaged to produce a level 2 survey to provide a better understanding of the building’s history and its physical form and fabric as a permanent record prior to its demolition. This required the preparation of a written report, a photographic record and a drawn survey, combining documentary research with a visual assessment of the structure to provide an overview of the building’s date, sequence of construction, evidence of previous alterations and identification of principal architectural features.
