Describe the work your company carries out

I give advice on conservation of heritage assets, including historical research, pre-purchase advice, applications for Listed Building Consent and planning permission, preparing heritage statements, method statements for repairs, Conservation Area Appraisals etc.,advice on grant schemes, and finding suitable craftspeople, building materials etc.

Project 1

  • St. Andrew's, Hull, Townscape Heritage Initiative
  • Boulevard and Coltham Street Conservation Areas in Hul
  • Client Hull and East Yorkshire Community Foundation (adminersting the scheme on behalf of HLF and Hull City Council)
  • Provided conservation advice to the scheme over 6 years including selection of buildings, liason with public, repair methods, selection of firms, inspection of works to esure compliance with HLF requirements, signing for satisfactory completion etc.
  • Scheme has now finished so web links no longer available


Project 2

  • Beverley Road Conservation Area Appraisal
  • Beverley Road, Hull.
  • Client Hull City Council
  • Historic area assessment, historical research, assessment of character and significance, writing report etc.,. This was to form part of successful application for a Townscape Heritage Scheme for the Conservation Area.

  • Dilston College Chapel Cottage; Renewal of windows
  • Dilston College Chapel Cottage, Dilston, Corbridge, Northumberland NE45
  • Clients: Architectural firm (AR2 Architects Ltd.) acting for private owners of school for disabled young people.
  • Advice on replacement of rotten windows, research and preparation of Heritage Statement, liason with planners and Conservation Officer, and submission of application for LBC
