Describe the work your company carries out

Chartered Town Planning and Regeneration Professional Consultancy. Social Enterprise (CIC, not-for-profit). Heritage-related work includes: project development, asset business plans, project delivery, funding bids, community and stakeholder engagement, neighbourhood planning guidance and support, local plan evidence, character and urban design anaysis, training, education.

UVE provides policy advice to various UK and national professional and membership bodies.

UVE is a partner in the Government’s national neighbourhood planning support programme and authored the Locality Roadmap Guide to neighbourhood planning, which is used by neighbourhood planning bodies all around the country.

UVE works in partnership with Urban Vision North Staffordshire, the Centre for Sustainable Development and Design. This includes running an independent design review service.

Dave Chetwyn undertakes regular public speaking engagements on heritage, economic development and neighbourhood planning. In addition, he was the Indepdent Examiner for the first London-based neighbourhood plan.

Project 1 
Name: Swale Local Plan – Heritage Evidence Base
Location: Swale
Client: Local Planning Authority
 

Description: Preparation of evidence base for local plan including identifying heritage assets, analaysis of assets, identification of heritage issues and assessment of economic viability for the main towns and rural settlements.



Project 2
Name: Heritage Review
Location: Enfield
Client: London Borough of Enfield
Description:
Undertaking a survey of the London Borough of Enfield, identifying new items for the local list and reviewing existing items. The project included building a volunteer base of over 40 volunteers, developing and delivering a training and monitoring strategy, reviewing nominations, undertaking public consultation and developing a new local list.

Name: Pugin Bicentenary Celebrations
Location: Staffordshire Moorlands

Client: Cheadle Better Welcome Group
Description:
As part of a community celebration to mark the bicentenary of A.W.N Pugin, Urban Vision delivered 42 intergenerational community projects over a 12 month period. The programme of activity included a community carnival, running a heritage community centre, managing exhibits and programmes, delivering opportunities for volunteers, and a schools education programme.

Urban Vision engaged with local civic societies and amenity groups, schools, community organisations, local partners and the wider community.
