Since 2013 the IHBC has hosted its annual ‘Conservation Course Connection Days’ as a support event for postgraduate students representing conservation-related courses across the UK. This year IHBC is glad to extend professional support for heritage-related courses too ranging from architecture, urban design, heritage management, conservation & heritage studies, and similar.
Academic training in the field opens a wide variety of career paths in the conservation industry. However this represents only the first step on the ladder of the sector: professional support and accreditation, such as IHBC membership, can make all the difference. We know that conservation is a multidisciplinary field too, and those starting their career have a variety of different skills, experiences and backgrounds.
The IHBC hopes that this cross-institutional event will help develop and grow the network of students with an interest in historic environment conservation, in the UK and beyond, and so increase awareness in the sector, help people and help conservation (in line with our charitable objects and public benefit).
