CPD Lecture: Investigating and Remedying Dampness and Timber Decay in Historic Buildings

David Watt from Hutton + Rostron Environmental Investigations returns to deliver a training session on dampness and decay.  The lecture will examine the problems of dampness and timber decay in historic and traditionally-constructed buildings, including: causes of dampness, the identification of moisture sources, measurement and monitoring of dampness, condensation and mould, timber structure, fungal infection and beetle infestation, weathering and human action. The lecture will also cover different approaches to remedial action and will be illustrated with case studies from David’s practice.
