Over the past decade, Wikipedia has become a valuable source of open knowledge. Created and edited by volunteers, Wikipedia’s content is reliant on accurate contributions from many different fields. This workshop aims to give those from the heritage science community the ability to add their knowledge to Wikipedia.
During the workshop, you will gain the skills and confidence that will enable you to contribute to Wikipedia. Trainers from Wikimedia UK will teach you how to create and edit pages, with follow-up resources provided to help you continue to develop these skills after the session. This will allow you to add your heritage science knowledge to Wikipedia: enhancing publicly-available content and supporting open knowledge sharing both within the sector and more widely.
The workshop is aimed at beginners: there is no need for any prior experience of editing Wikpedia. You will need to bring a laptop to the session.
