St. Peter’s Church, Bournemouth
St Peter’s Church Bournemouth’s Heritage Lottery Funded ‘Stone and Voice’ Project has planned several events this year to mark the WW1 Battle of Passchendaele and to explore those aspects of St Peter’s church and architecture designed to commemorate Bournemouth men who gave their lives in the Great War.
St Peter’s Church won Heritage Lottery Fund backing for its project Stone and Voice, which combines local history, art and education. The project will tell the story of the Chapel of the Resurrection, which was built in the grounds of St Peter’s after the Great War, as well as the fallen who are commemorated in the church.
This is your chance to take part in an architectural drawing workshop in St Peter’s Resurrection Chapel, and grounds, guided by Dr Willem de Bruijn, Lecturer in Architecture at the Arts University Bournemouth. As you draw Learn the history of the chapel and about the soldiers remembered in it. Materials for the workshop will be supplied by Artcetera of Boscombe and guests will be invited to display their work in the chapel over summer.
The workshop takes place on June 10th and you can find more information out from Alice Miller Project Coordinator on 07905 781 749 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org. Advised age 16+
