This course is intended to give students the skills and knowledge to be able to produce good quality architectural carvings in stone. Attendees will gain knowledge in designing, planning and a range of carving styles guided by our experienced expert tutor.
Learners are encouraged to explore and develop their own image for carving and the course covers how to handle tools and basic carving techniques. The course tutor will give practical demonstrations on each section of the course and guided carving will take place throughout the day. Attendees will be able to create a finished piece of carved work to take home.
Stone and all the tools and equipment required for the course are provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring ideas or sketches of what they would like to carve.

Suitable for: Each participant will work on their own individual piece and therefore there are likely to be a range of abilities within the class and we will tailor the course to suit each participant.
